The Case Study
The Idea
No one thinks about tires until they have a flat, so we turned – getting a flat tire – into an event.
We created an event ad on Facebook encouraging our target to NOT attend the “Stranded with a Flat Tire Event” by going to Tire Pros where every tire purchase includes roadside assistance. This was the first time anyone had used a Facebook Event and event ad in this way. We basically hacked the event format and used it as an unexpected and entertaining ad for Tire Pros.
Social Engagement
The Results
The interest and engagement with this simple and cost effective social idea was incredible. The active conversations within the ad and the event on Facebook continued for more than a month leading to 2,351 people “interested” in the event, 1,514 “going” to the event, 1,800 likes, more than 500 comments and 2.3 million impressions. All for a product most people dread thinking about buying.
